Designing, producing, and supplying inkjet fine art canvas is a form of art in and of itself. There are so many variables that make it a very difficult process. It is for this reason that few fine art canvas manufacturers exist and that problems with supply are common. For printmakers, a lack of diversity means that inconsistency with canvas supply is inevitable.

Breathing Color's engineering team, understanding that inconsistency must be eliminated, began a mission over 6 years ago to do just that. In these six years we have designed over ten fine art canvas products and have supplied them all over the world. We experienced the ups and downs, the inconsistencies, and the unforeseen hardships - and we prevailed.

Only after paying our dues have we been able to pursue our ambition within the realm of fine art canvas manufacturing. This ambition was to develop the most advanced inkjet canvas in the world. In order to develop canvas that is noticeably superior when compared to current industry leaders, we found that it must: (1) render the widest color gamut and highest Dmax value, (2) be extremely durable so that it can be stretched over frames without cracking or tearing, even after a top coat is applied, (3) have a heavy, natural feel and appropriate texture, and (4) have the most competitive price in the market.
